Mekong Eyes Cruise

STYLE : Traditional

TRIP CODE : MEC

Join us in one of the Mekong’s most remarkable cruising experiences aboard the Mekong Eyes vessel. Combining traditional Mekong boat-building techniques with contemporary comforts and a range of on-board amenities, this 39-meter converted rice barge affords guests a truly unique means of exploring the Mekong Delta region. Comfortably fitting 30 passengers in an area of 250 square meters, the Mekong Eyes is nothing short of a floating luxury hotel. The Mekong Eyes gets its name from a traditional ceremony given to all boats that would enter the Mekong Delta region. Open eyes would be painted on the ship’s bow, acting as a symbol of good luck, alertness to the “spirits” of the delta, and symbol of safe passages and a strong crew. When the ship was ready to commence its maiden voyage onto the waters, the eyes would be added on in an “eye opening” ceremony, which is why you will find eyes on all vessels sailing the Mekong. Guests will find 15 beautifully furnished cabins, boasting twin and double rooms with their own ensuite bathrooms. Rooms come equipped with air-conditioning, fans, showers and hot water, wardrobes, and a range of other convenient amenities. Panoramic windows provide beautiful views of the passing landscapes, while the sturdy finish keeps cabins protected from sounds and the harsh Vietnamese climate. On-site dining is available in the lower deck dining room, with local and international specialities to choose from. A sundowner bar is available throughout the cruise and an interior lounge provides the ultimate spot for relaxing and soaking in the passing Mekong scenery. For those who wish to get out in the open, there’s an open-air rooftop deck (perfect for sun lounging) that displays the stunning Mekong scenery, as well as the pristine night sky. With a fantastic crew to wait on your every need, cruising with the Mekong Eyes is an experience not to be forgotten!
